PatMethenyMusic.com, rebuilt: 2004 → 2014 → 2026

PatMethenyMusic.com is an independent fan site I have written since 2004. This is its third version.

2004. The first site went up, and it grew up alongside The Way Up.

2014. I relaunched it as a blog around Kin (←→) and the Unity Group. That blog is still here, every post of it, in the Journal.

2026. The site has been rebuilt from scratch. It is faster, it reads well on a phone, and it is organized around what I can actually offer as a fan: decades of listening, and the shows I was lucky enough to be at.

What’s new

  • Front Row. One fan’s timeline, from a 1994 CompuServe exchange with Pat through Lisner Auditorium, The Way Up, the Orchestrion at the Hippodrome, the Unity Group at The Warfield, Strathmore and Wolf Trap, to Keystone Korner in 2022. The conversation that started on CompuServe in 1994 has continued, on and off, by email ever since. My own photos appear where I have them (AI-restored ones are labeled), with location data removed.
  • Books. A short, annotated shelf of the books about Pat and his music that I think are worth your time.
  • Now. A dated, sourced page on what Pat is doing right now: the latest album (Side-Eye III+), the next tour dates, new videos on his official channel and the press worth reading. Every fact links to its source.
  • Albums, Watch and Listen, rebuilt, with videos that load only when you click them.
  • Old links still work. If you bookmarked a page on the old site, it should take you to the right place on the new one. The old News page now points to Now.

What’s coming

  • Now, refreshed monthly. I will keep the Now page current from official sources: patmetheny.com, Pat’s official YouTube channel and the tour page.
  • Journal posts when there is something real to say: a new album, a big interview or a show I attend. No filler.
  • More Front Row. There is a slot waiting for the Side-Eye III+ tour.

For tour dates and tickets, the official word is always patmetheny.com. If you have a correction, a memory or a photo from a show you attended, please get in touch.
